Make a little discovery

Start with a major chord, then switch to minor. One note moves by a semitone. Try an inversion next: the same chord tones take different places above the bass.

A ninth adds a note above the octave. A suspended chord uses a second or fourth in place of the third. Tap the note buttons to make your own combination.

Chord names describe pitch collections. Some selections fit several names; their role in a song supplies more context.
